Ingredients

Dough:

1 cup soft butter

1/3 cup heavy whipping cream

2 cups sifted flour

Filling:

1/4 cup soft butter

3/4 cup powdered sugar

1 egg yolk

1 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

Blend all dough ingredients together. Chill for 1 hour. Roll out dough to 1/8" thick on a floured surface. Cut out about the size of a 50 cent piece (or a small cookie cutter). Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and prick each one. Bake at 375 until light brown. Cool before filling. Filling: mix all ingredients, adding red or green food coloring. Put filling on one wafer and place another wafer on top (like an oreo).
