Ingredients

cake:

1.25 cup flour

1/4 cup sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/4 cup shortening

2/3 cup milk

1 egg

2/3 cup chopped nuts

topping:

4 tablespoons flour

6 tablespoons sugar

3 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon cinnamon

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 400 F. Grease an 8 x 8 pan.

Sift the flour, sugar, and baking powder together into a medium bowl.

Cut in the shortening.

Add the egg and milk. Stir until moist.

Fold the nuts into the batter.

Pour batter into greased pan.

Mix the flour, sugar, melted butter & cinnamon. Sprinkle over the batter.

Bake for 25 minutes.
