Ingredients

1/4 cup white sugar

1/2 cup shortening

Pour over 1/2 cup boiling water. Let cool. Add:

1 beaten egg

1 tsp. salt

1 tbs. yeast dissolved in 1/2 cup warm water and 1 tsp. sugar.

Add enough flour to make a soft dough, about 3 cups.

Preparation

Let dough rise for 1/2 hour. Roll out, spread with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon mixture. Roll up and cut into slices. Let rise again for 1 hour. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes or less. Ice.
