Ingredients

1 loaf rustic Italian bread, cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices (about 24) 

4 garlic cloves, halved 

Extra-virgin olive oil 

Coarse salt 

Preparation

Heat a grill or preheat the broiler. Lightly char bread slices on grill or under broiler, turning slices halfway through. Rub bread slices with cut sides of garlic cloves, then drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt.
