Ingredients

3/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup butter

1 egg

1/2 cup milk

2 cups flour

2 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. salt

2 cups blueberries-or raspberries, blackberries, apples (cherries would be good too)

TOPPING

1/3 cup sugar

1/3 cup flour

2 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 cup butter

Preparation

Mix sugar, butter & egg until creamy add milk slowly. Mix dry ingredients together (flour, baking powder, salt) and add to butter mixture. Mixture will be firm. Gently fold in fruit. Pour into greased and floured 8x8 pan. Mix topping together until well mixed and crumbling (I typically use my hands for this). Sprinkle topping onto cake. Bake 350° 45-50 minutes (toothpick test: insert a toothpick into cake and if it’s clean when you pull it out, it’s done)
