Ingredients

1 cup basmati rice 

1/4 teaspoon salt 

Preparation

Rinse rice with cold water until water runs clear.

Place rice in a medium saucepan and cover with 1 1/2 cups water. Add salt and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook for 15 minutes.

Remove saucepan from heat and let rice stand, covered, for 10 minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve immediately.
