Ingredients
¼ cup butter
1 T. minced garlic
1 large onion diced
1 green pepper diced
1 red pepper diced
1 ½ lb ground turkey or gimme lean (soy sausage)
1 cup tomato puree
1 lg. can diced tomatoes
2 can beans (kidney or pinto)
2 cups water
1 t salt
2 T chili powder
1 bay leaf
½ t. crushed red pepper
1 t. oregano
2 T. parsley
1 t. cumin
1 ½ t. sugar
1 ½ cinnamon sticks
1 heaping t. cocoa
1 can olives with juice (not the salty green type with pimentos. If you cannot find organic green brined olived, use black)
¼ t. paprika
¼ t. cayenne pepper
Preparation
Sauté onions, garlic and peppers. Add turkey or gimme lean and cook (until turkey is brown). Drain fat if using turkey. Add other ingredients and cook for as long as you can I cook mine 8 hours.
