Ingredients

Filling:

5 medium granny smith apples

1 can (16 oz) whole berry cranberry sauce

3/4 cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Topping:

1/4 cup nuts, chopped (optional)

1 cup rolled oats

1/3 cup packed brown sugar

1/3 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 cup butter, melted

vanilla ice cream or whipped topping (optional)

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375. For filling, peel, core, and slice apples. Cut slices in half cross-wise and place in 9x13 pan. In bowl, combine cranberry sauce, granulated sugar, and flour. Mix well. Pour cranberry mixture over apples and toss to coat evenly. For topping, combine nuts, oats, brown sugar, flour and cinnamon. Add melted butter and mix until crumbly. Sprinkle over fruit. Bake 35-40 min until fruit is tender. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped topping if desired.
