Ingredients

2 cups flour

1/3 cup sugar

2 tablespoons grated orange peel (about 1 grated orange)

2 tablespoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup unsalted butter, chilled

1/2 cup dried cranberries

1/4 cup plain yogurt or sour cream

3 tablespoons orange juice

1 large egg

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, peel, baking powder, salt. Cut in butter and add cranberries. Mixture should resemble a course meal.
  3. In a seperate large bowl, whisk yogurt, orange juice, and egg.
  4. Gradually add flour mixture to the liquids and knead until smooth.
  5. Pat dough into a 8-inch round and cut into 8 equal wedges. Transfer to a nostick baking sheet, spacing apart the dough.
  6. Bake until golden brown, about 12 minutes.
