Ingredients
1/2 cup butter or shortening
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 eggs
1 cup water
1 cup sifted all purpose flour
Preparation
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Combine butter, salt and water in a saucepan. Bring to full boil, stirring until butter melts.
Add flour and heat at low heat until mixture forms a compact ball and leaves side of pan, about 30 seconds.
Beat in eggs, one at a time at medium heat, about 30 seconds each.
Drop by tablespoon 2 inches apart on greased pan.
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes. Cut slits, return for 5 minutes to oven to dry.
