Ingredients

Grits:

2 cups heavy whipping cream

2 cups milk

3 cups instant grits

2 cups of a three-cheese blend (Asiago, Parmesan, Romano)

1/2 stick of butter

1 Tbs. minced garlic (fresh from jar)

salt to taste

Shrimp:

1/2 pound of thick pepper bacon, chopped

1pound large shrimp, peeled, deveined

1/2 red onion, jullian sliced

1/2 cup chicken broth

2 Tbs. butter

fresh parsley

Preparation

For Grits:

In a saucepan, pour in heavy cream, milk and butter and bring to slight boil, then reduce and simmer. Add the grits and stir for 5 minutes. Add in minced garlic and cheeses. Lightly season with salt.

For Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, add bacon and onions. Cook until brown and lightly crisp. Add butter, chicken stock and shrimp and simmer for 2-3 minutes until shrimp is cooked and remove from stove.

Scoop grits into bowls and spoon shrimp mixture onto the center and garnish with parsley.
