Ingredients
Brownies:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup granulated sugar
4 eggs
1 Cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 (16oz) can chocolate syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
Creme de Menthe Layer:
1/4 cup butter
2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
2 Tbsp Creme de Menthe (green or clear, if clear then color with food coloring to match theme.)
Chocolate icing
1 (6oz) chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark, I prefer dark)
1/4 cup butter
Preparation
Brownies: Cream together 1/2 cup butter and granulated sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Combine dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to sugar mixture, alternating with the chocolate syrup. Stir in the vanilla. Pour into a greased cake pan 8x8x2. Bake at 350 F for 20-25 minutes.
Creme de Menthe Layer Cream together 1/4cup butter gradually adding 2 cups powered sugar and creme de menthe. Spread icing over warm brownies. Chill for at least 1 hour.
Chocolate icing
Combine chips with 1/4 cup butter and melt together. Spread chocolate over cold iced brownie. Re chill until serving time. Cut into squares.
